Try Russian beer VASILEOSYROVSKOE TEMNOE - reminds GUINNESS (oh never can be the same but still) yummy yummy!!!
This beer is not well-known and it is easy to find - only in a few bars and in a few shops but it's GOOOD! And there's a shop very near to the hostel where you can find it! it calls HOPMAH (near Oktyabrskaya hotel). How to get there you can see at the map below.

We have an open position for a guide for our famed pub crawls.
Successful candidate must be a long-term St Petersburg resident,
native speaker of Russian with fluent conversational English, a natural leader.
And most importantly he/she must possess that right attitude
and drive necessary for such a difficult job!
Training begins in April, work starts in May 2010.
If all goes well more work on other tours might become available.
